Early Intervention and Outreach Program

HomeFront established the Early Intervention and Outreach Program in partnership with the Calgary Police Service and the Calgary and Area Child and Family Services Authority to reach out to individuals, families and children identified at risk. Referrals to the program come from the Calgary Police Service for families who agree to participate. A HomeFront outreach team visits the home to:

  • support family members and help them to recognize and build on their existing strengths;
  • provide information about community agencies best able to assist the family or individuals;
  • directly assist family members in connecting with appropriate community resources.

For more information on the strength-based approach the program is using, go to: www.resiliencycanada.ca.

By intervening early in the domestic violence cycle, the Early Intervention and Outreach Program is proving to be a significant crime prevention initiative.
